Guru Temanku

After joining the ELTA (English Language Training Assistance) program, Mr. Ady realized how important quality education is for children in our region, including English and computer skills. Many scholarships, from both the government and abroad, require English proficiency and academic achievement. Yet from his own course center, he saw that many schools and parents were not aware of these opportunities.
In his classroom, Mr. Ady shared an idea to form an organization that goes directly into villages: helping teachers, teaching English, and organizing competitions. Two of his students, Najla Nurhaya and Irma Abdullah, helped bring this idea to life — and Guru Temanku was born.
To date, Guru Temanku has reached 6 villages in South Halmahera, driven by more than a dozen volunteers, and has touched dozens of teachers and hundreds of students — from early childhood to senior high school — through the trainings and competitions we hold regularly.

Guru Temanku opens its doors to the young people of South Halmahera and North Maluku to take part directly in all of our activities — from junior high and senior high students and university students to the general public.

A good learning ecosystem needs regular, high-quality competitions. That is why Guru Temanku consistently organizes academic competitions from early childhood to senior high school across South Halmahera Regency.

Amid busy teaching schedules, teachers often have no room to grow. Guru Temanku is here as a friend — accompanying teachers so they can keep growing.
